Letter and Number formation
For those of you encouraging writing and recording numbers, here are some rhymes that you may find useful when modelling.
Home learning - wow!
I have been blown away this morning looking at all of the wonderful learning you have been getting up to. Thank you so much for sending them to tapestry, I've really enjoyed seeing what you've been doing.

Home learning!
Please remember that the most important thing is that you have fun learning from home! I can't wait to see some photos of your beans growing, please send me your photos to tapestry and I will upload them onto our blog so the children can see what their friends are up to.
I've started the day following Joe Wicks PE session, this is something you can join in with your children. Joe will be continuing this daily Monday - Friday until the schools are reopened. Check out his channel on You tube.
Also try out cosmic kids yoga.

The children are doing really well with their phonics and love Geraldine the giraffe on You tube with Mr Thorne phonics. They are learning 'ur', 'ow' and 'oi' and the tricky word 'you'. Phonics play does some great games that the children enjoy. They should be able to decode words from phase 2 and most of phase 3. I've also included the plans we follow. Try searching the phonics pure sounds by Oxford Owls on You tube, this will help you to pronounce the sounds along with your child.

Science Day and writing
We had the BEST day for our Science Day this week. Some of us chose to dress up as scientists,
we even had a mad scientist!! We started
off learning about different types of energy and made rockets we could
launch. We then went to the nature area
to dig up some earth worms so we could investigate them, we learnt so many
facts. We’ve also started writing our
own stories this week, using our sounds to support us.

Story telling
So proud of all of the children this week and their
achievements. They did an amazing job of
retelling their dinosaur stories and worked so well as a team to create
beautiful settings, well done Red Class!! We’ve also been working super hard
with our phonics and learning some tricky digraphs.

Books and stories!
The children have worked so hard this week writing
their own dinosaur stories in groups.
They started by making a dinosaur out of clay, then thought about it’s
features and personality and then we started our story boards. We can’t wait to start creating the settings
and filming our stories. We’ve also
enjoyed a fabulous World Book Day where we could come dressed up or in our PJ’s
and took part in a book swap.
